Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear musicians and guests
As President of the Board of Trustees of Murikultur, I am very pleased to be able to give the welcoming address on this occasion. The Muri Competition to align.

Music connects - across language and national borders. It creates encounters, creates community and opens up spaces for inspiration and exchange. This is exactly what happens here in Muri: musicians from all over the world come together for this special oboe and bassoon competition to test their skills, learn from each other and share their passion for music. It is particularly nice that the focus is on young musicians.
The fact that such a competition is taking place in Muri fills us with pride. Thanks to the 1000-year-old Muri Monastery, our town has an extraordinary cultural appeal. For centuries, Muri has been a place of encounters, education and music - a tradition that continues with The Muri Competition is lived in a wonderful way.
I am particularly pleased that most of the participants are accommodated with host families. This personal form of hospitality makes the competition not only a musical but also a human experience and strengthens international ties beyond the concert hall. For many participants, it makes Muri a place where
that people like to remember.
I would like to thank all the organizers, host families and supporters for their great commitment. I wish the participants every success, inspiring encounters and unforgettable musical moments in Muri.
Robert Barrer
